Founded in 1955, Atomic makes the world’s finest winter sports equipment. For over 65 years, our products have helped redefine the skiing experience for skiers of all levels, from beginners taking their first turns to the greatest athletes pushing their boundaries at the very top of the sport.

The legendary partnership between the Overdose. Australia team and Amer Sports, spanning several years, continues to evolve with a new venture for Atomic. Atomic, under the Amer Sports umbrella, is set to establish a localised version of its global site using Shopify Plus. This entails the transformation of designs provided by Atomic global, refactored to harmonise with the Shopify Dawn theme.

The primary business objectives revolve around delivering a modern and sophisticated eCommerce experience tailored for Atomic customers. The initiative aims to align the brand seamlessly with the Shopify tech stack, thereby streamlining business operations for Amer Sports. This strategic move enables the Atomic team to leverage shared resources, including SAP integration, apps and a unified store structure with other Amer Sports brands, fostering efficiency and cohesion across the board.

Challenge 01

Shopify Markets Implementation for Australia and New Zealand Region

Atomic needed a solution to operate efficiently in both the Australian and New Zealand regions under a single Shopify instance. The challenge lay in establishing distinct pricing and inventory controls for each region while enhancing the overall customer experience.

SOLUTION

Leveraging Shopify Markets, Overdose. successfully set up both Australia and New Zealand markets within a unified Shopify instance. This allowed Atomic to directly control pricing and inventory, and with the use of Shopify's geolocation app, customers are seamlessly redirected to their respective region store, streamlining operations.

Unique Product Feature Call-out using Hotspot Image

Atomic sought an interactive solution to highlight the unique selling propositions of its products through a hotspot image. The challenge was to integrate this dynamic feature directly into the product pages.

SOLUTION

Overdose. addressed this by utilising Shopify's native metafield feature. The resulting solution empowers Atomic to showcase distinctive product features through hotspot images directly on the product page, providing customers with a visually engaging and informative experience.

Automatic Discounting for Specific Customer Groups

Atomic required a sophisticated discounting mechanism tailored for specific customer groups, each with varying discount amounts and annual limits. The challenge was to create a system that could flexibly accommodate these diverse requirements.

SOLUTION

Overdose. devised a customised solution using Shopify customer tags and metafields. This solution allows Atomic to implement automatic discounting for multiple customer groups, updating pricing on collection and product pages. The flexibility extends to setting spending limits and discount values, aligning with Atomic's unique business requirements.
